The family of the late highlife music legend, Daddy Lumba has announced that his one-week observation will be held on August 30 in Accra with the venue to be announced later.
A Facebook post by DL106.9 FM on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 said the funeral will take place in Kumasi.
According to the Ekuona Royal Family of Nsuta Abusuapanyin, these arrangements were arrived at after consultations with Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and to formally inform him of the death.
“The one-week observation is 30th August in Accra. The venue will be put out later,” he said.
“We plead with everyone to comport themselves when they come to the event so that no injuries or problems will be reported. Let’s pray for a very peaceful and solemn event. Let’s honour and respect Kwadwo Fosu,” he added.
The family of the late Daddy Lumba in collaboration with the Creative Arts Agency hosted a candlelight vigil for the departed musician.
The solemn event took place at the Independence Square in Accra on Saturday, August 2, 2025.
The atmosphere was filled with empathy as thousands of Ghanaians gathered at the Independence Square to pay tribute to the late music icon Charles Kwadwo Fosu, also known as Daddy Lumba.
Daddy Lumba passed on in the early hours of Saturday, July 26, 2025 after a brief illness.
