Five people have been confirmed dead by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in a road traffic accident at Asikuma Junction in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region.
A post on the official Facebook of GNFS, Tuesday, November 4, 2025 said a rescue team, led by AstnO Fred Aganu, accompanied by the Acting District Fire Officer, ADO I Godwin Gbedemah, was dispatched to the scene after the Peki Fire Station received a distress call reporting the accident.

The accident involved a grey Toyota Noah with registration number GX 422-25 and a tipper truck with registration number GT 725-19.

According to GNFS, out of a total of nine (9) casualties, four (4), including a minor, were successfully rescued by the team and transported to the Peki Government Hospital by the National Ambulance Service.

However, the remaining five (5) were unresponsive and have been handed over to the police.
