The National Association of Institutional Suppliers (NAIS) has communicated its decision to picket at the Ministry of Education on Friday, June 12, 2026, over what it describes as the Government’s failure to defray debts owed its members.

These members, the Association says, have supplied uniforms, house dresses, and school cloths worth approximately GH¢50 million to public senior high schools under the Free Senior High School Programme.

A Wednesday, June 3, 2026, statement issued by the Association says the picketing has become necessary, following the prolonged payment of the supplies by the Government.

It explains that the members have not been paid since 2023, despite several engagements and appeals to the relevant authorities, a development the Association says has caused financial hardship for suppliers and threatens their ability to continue providing supplies.

“The picketing aims not only to draw the government’s attention to our plight but also to urge the immediate release of funds owed to NAIS members,” portions of the statement noted.

According to NAIS, it expects the Government to settle the outstanding debts after the demonstration.

The picketing is scheduled to take place at the Ministry of Education on June 11, 2026.
