An Accra High Court has set aside an injunction placed on the final funeral rites of the late Ga Manye, Naa Dedei Omaedru III.

This is to allow the ceremony take place as earlier planned prior to the injunction.

The applicants failed to paint the true picture of the issues when they first filed their application, according to the ruling of the High Court.

“Upon reading the affidavit filed by the applicants and deposed to by the 1st defendant/applicant, I am of the view that the order of Interim injunction granted on 25th October 2023 was made in error. The applicants failed to give the court the true state of affairs.

“In fairness to the parties therefore the order of interim injunction granted on 25th October 2023 is hereby set aside,” the Justice Patrick Baayeh ruling on Thursday, October 26, 2023, said.

Some seven members close to the family injuncted the funeral ceremony and disbanded the organisers, its allies or any group or persons closer to the committee to desist from carrying out the ceremony for at least, ten days.
