Captain Smart says a tweet from a leading member of the New Patriotic Party and a cousin of the president suggests the ruling government should be voted out in the next election.

Mr. Gabby Asare Okyere Darko had tweeted in June 2017 that, “Posterity shall not forgive Akufo-Addo and our generation if we don’t win the war against galamsey.”

But following the numerous campaigns and taskforce upon taskforce to curb the menace without results, a netizen pulled the five-year-old tweet to remind him of the lost war against illegal mining.

But in his response, Mr. Otchere-Darko said “I remember this tweet very well and the import of my post remains valid today as it was yesterday and for our President, our leaders and our society. Posterity will surely judge as meanly and legitimately so if we do not protect for future generations what was bequeathed to us.”

In reaction to the tweet on Onua Maakye Friday, October 5, 2022, Captain Smart said the war against galamsey has failed because the President Akufo-Addo cannot deal with perpetrators like Wontumi and co., which is an imploration for Ghanaians to vote out the NPP come 2024.

“Gabby says we should vote against NPP because he knows Nana Addo can’t fight galamsey because of Wontumi. That’s why he says posterity will not forgive Akufo Addo,” Captain Smart noted.
