Former Black Stars coach Otto Addo will return at the helm after the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) approved a report by a five-member search committee led by Vice President Mark Addo.

Mr Addo presented a report to the Council at a meeting held on Thursday, March 14.

According to the GFA, the  Borussia Dortmund talent coach will be handed a 34-month contract with an option for a further 24 months.

Addo, who was assistant to Milovan Rajevac in 2022, was given temporary charge of the team that year, qualifying for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

He, however, left the job after the team’s group stage exit to concentrate on his job at Borussia Dortmund.

He was replaced by Chris Hughton, who was also sacked after the team’s disappointing performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in La Côte d’Ivoire.

Otto will be in charge for Ghana’s friendlies in March, against Nigeria and Uganda.

He will return to Borussia Dortmund but travel back to officially take up the job in May.
