The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku, has highly praised re-appointed Black Stars coach Otto Addo, particularly with regard to his performance during his job interview.

Mr Okraku said Otto Addo, who temporarily handled the Black Stars in 2022, was exceptional in his interview, giving the five-member search committee no option than to recommend him for approval by the Executive Council.

“Otto was exceptional in the interview process and was rated highly by the search committee, hence the decision,” the GFA President told ghanafa.org.

He disclosed that there were other brilliant professionals who applied for the job when it was open for applications in February but the Borussia Dortmund talent coach impressed the committee led by GFA Vice President Mark Addo.

“There were some brilliant individuals among the coaches who applied for the job,” Mr Okraku said.

“So, the committee took the pain to interview a chunk of them to pick their thoughts on their intentions to transform the team within a short period of time due to our peculiar situation,” he added.

“The Committee was overly satisfied with Otto’s performance for which reason he was recommended to the Executive Council for approval.”

Otto Addo, who was a member of the Black Stars squad that qualified for the nation’s first FIFA World Cup in Germany, has been given 34 months to be at the helm with an option to extend for 24 months.

He will be in charge for the Stars’ next friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda in Morocco.
