The Ghana Air Traffic Safety Electronics Association (GhATSEA) has rescinded its decision to embark on an industrial action which was scheduled for commencement today, Thursday, October 30, 2025.

The Association had warned of a nationwide wide over poor welfare conditions which had not been addressed by authorities.

However, a statement signed by the President of the Association, Ing. David Annan Mensah, and issued on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, it said they have called off the strike because of a stakeholder engagement they had.

The statement notes that their meeting with Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) governing board and management was a fruitful one, which has led to the suspension of the intended strike.

“Following constructive engagement with the GCAA governing board and management, we have decided to suspend our planned strike action, which was scheduled to take effect from 30th October 2025,” the statement read.

It further expressed optimism about the engagement leading to a lasting solution of all their outstanding issues, while thanking the stakeholders for the gesture.

“We appreciate the efforts made by all stakeholders during the discussions and remain optimistic that the ongoing engagements will lead to a lasting resolution of all outstanding issues,” the statement added.

The association had earlier threatened to embark on an indefinite nationwide strike, citing poor welfare conditions, inequitable job placements, unfair salary administration, and unresolved welfare matters dating back over 15 years.

GhATSEA assured the public and all aviation stakeholders of its commitment to maintaining safety and professionalism in the delivery of air navigation services across the country.

“We remain steadfast in our commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and professionalism in the provision of air navigation services across the country,” it stated.

The association also commended the Acting Director-General of the GCAA, Rev. Stephen Wilfred Arthur, and Acting Deputy Director-General (Technical), Theophilus Aryee Ago, for their dedication and leadership during the negotiations.

GhATSEA further thanked the media and the public for their patience and understanding throughout the period of industrial tension and reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the continued safe and efficient operation of Ghana’s airspace.

Meanwhile, the GCAA had assured all stakeholders that air traffic services were going to be offered amid the intended strike.
