The Government of Ghana and South Korea have signed a visa waiver agreement after almost five decades of bilateral relations between the two nations.
Per the agreement, holders of diplomatic and service passports can travel between the two countries without visas.
The agreement was signed by Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, and his South Korean counterpart, Cho Hyun, on the margins of the Korea–Africa Foreign Ministers’ Meeting held in Seoul.
Delivering his address as co-chair of the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, praised the longstanding relationship between Ghana and South Korea and called for enhanced economic cooperation and trade between South Korea and Africa.
Minister Ablakwa noted that significant efforts are underway across the African continent to accelerate industrialization, improve infrastructure, and strengthen regional and international cooperation which requires strategic partnerships.
This adds to the many visa waiver agreements Ghana has signed with other countries across the globe.
