Ghana’s year-on-year price inflation has dropped from 11.5% in August 2025 to 9.4% in September.

This is the first time inflation has eased to a single digit in four years, extending a nine-month streak of declines.

Ghana’s August inflation drops to 11.5%, lowest in four years

The Ghana Statistical Service says the slowdown was largely driven by an ease in food prices, with food inflation falling to 11% in September from 14.8% the previous month.

Also, non-food inflation came down to 8.2% from the 8.7% that was recorded in the month of August.

The statistics showing a sustained decline in the figures mean inflation has surpassed the government’s full-year target. It means businesses and households alike that have endured prolonged prices pressures are going to have some relief.

Heading into the final quarter of the year, the sustained trend provides strenghtened prospects for monetary policy stability, improved consumer confidence and exchange rate resilience.

The last time Ghana enjoyed single-digit inflation was in August 2021.
