The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in the Savannah Region has successfully contained a domestic fire outbreak at Salaga in the East Gonja Municipality following a swift emergency response on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
According to the Service, the Salaga Fire Station received a distress call at 10:45am reporting a fire at the residence of Mr. Faridu, popularly known as “Dadie,” located at Power House, a suburb of Salaga.
A five-member firefighting crew was immediately dispatched to the scene and arrived within minutes to battle the blaze.

The firefighters managed to bring the fire under control before fully extinguishing it, preventing further destruction to nearby properties.
Although no casualties were recorded, the fire destroyed several personal belongings, including stored food items such as cassava, maize and yam.

The Ghana National Fire Service said investigations are currently underway to determine the cause of the fire.
