Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and 2024 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed optimism of a better future for him despite losing the December 2024 elections.
Dr. Bawumia says the greater things that lie ahead of him are hinged on his faith in God which will usher him to that divine purpose.
The Vice President lost the December 07, 2024 presidential election to former President John Dramani Mahama, who made a comeback to the presidency after losing two successive elections to the NPP’s Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
At a 31st December Watch Night service Tuesday, December 31, 2024, the Vice President said “I know and believe that God has a plan for me for greater and better things in the future.”
He also preached unity and admonished the citizenry to embrace the new chapter God is ushering the nation into in 2025, expressing the need for Ghanaians to be gratitude to God.
Bawumia told the congregants the importance of unity in pushing the dreams of the nation ahead for a new chapter.
“The book of Thessalonians 5:18 tells us that in all things, give thanks to God. I have an abiding faith in the Lord, and for what He has done for us, we give Him thanks,” he told attendees at the Lighthouse Chapel International.
Vice President Bawumia extended his New Year greetings to the congregation and all citizens of Ghana.
“From my wife and me, we wish you a Happy New Year. God bless Lighthouse Chapel, and God bless Bishop Dag.”
Dr. Bawumia was present at the service alongside his wife, Samira Bawumia, the National Chairman of the NPP, Stephen Ntim, and several other senior members of the party.
