‘God has sanctified the calls for Ken Ofori-Atta’s removal as Finance Minister, broadcaster Blessed Godsbrain Smart has said.

Many Ghanaians called for the Finance Minister to be removed when the Cedi started depreciating steadily and the economy had a downturn.

But the President said those calling for Ofori-Atta’s head were jobless and hungry people asking him to sack his cousin.

After the separate calls from both the Majority and Minority caucuses separately for the Minister’s head, Political analyst at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Prof. Samuel Adu Gyamfi said it was an embarrassing development for the President to remain adamant on the calls from the public to degenerate into a public objection from the Majority.

According to Captain Smart, the rains in Accra yesterday after the brouhaha is an indication that God has sanctioned for Ofori-Atta to be ousted from the Finance ministry as its head by sanctifying the demands with the rains.

He says for the first time over some period, it rained heavily in Accra without any casualties or destruction of properties meaning it was God at work in the economic wailings of Ghanaians.

“It rained heavily yesterday after the Majority came out that they want the Finance Minister sacked. Yesterday it rained heavily but did you hear that someone has been awashed or any casualty as it usually happen? It means God has sanctified the calls for his sacking. The rain washed away Ken Ofori-Atta from our land,” he noted.
