Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo), the operator of the National Interconnected Transmission System (NITS) has informed consumers it will take the 161Kv Akosombo-Nkawkaw Transmission Line out of service from Sunday, October 5, 2025 to Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

According to GRIDCo, the outage is to relocate two towers on the line along the Kumasi-Accra Road.

The relocation has become necessary to make way for ongoing work by the Ghana Highway Authority, to expand the Kumasi – Accra road, GRIDCo said in a statement on Friday October 3.

“We have put in arrangements to ensure that the work will not affect supply to consumers. We have also arranged for our engineers to be on standby to quickly respond in the unlikely event of any incident during the period of work.

“GRIDCo apologises for any inconvenience this may cause consumers and the public,” the statement said.
