The year 2000 batch of the Old Mawuli Students Association (OMSU) has made a donation of assorted food items and supplies worth GHC30,000 to the female ward of the Ho Prison.
The group on Friday, October 24, 2025, presented the items to the inmates and spent time interacting with them.
This gesture marks the group’s 25th-anniversary celebration which coincided with Mawuli School’s 75th-anniversary celebrations.
The items donated included bags of rice, yam, mineral drinks, toiletries, and other essential products.
During the presentation, President of the group, Divine Akuaku, emphasized the importance of sharing their joyous moment with the inmates.
“As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, we chose to share this moment with them,” he said.
“We want to seize this opportunity to celebrate with our mothers and sisters who are here,” he added.
CSP Millicent Akity, who received the items on behalf of the inmates, expressed gratitude for the gesture, noting that the donation will significantly improve the well-being of the prisoners.
She also urged the public to always remember the inmates.
