Hundreds of women from the Sekondi Takoradi metropolis who attended a breast cancer screening at Connect FM have praised the station for its longstanding commitment to the community.
They are now encouraging others to take part in future health initiatives.
In a related development, the station has announced it will soon launch new programmes specifically designed to benefit its clients and partners.
In a final push to mark the end of October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a collaborative effort between Media General’s subsidiary in Takoradi, Connect FM, West View Medical Center and Anaji Choice Mart on Saturday, October 25, 2025, saw hundreds of people being screened at a breast cancer screening and education campaign.

“Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Ghana and the leading cause of cancer-related deaths among women. As we observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, remember: breast health matters every month. Regular self-examinations are key.
“If you notice any unusual symptoms like lumps, nipple discharge, or changes in breast shape, don’t hesitate to visit your nearest healthcare facility for a check-up. Take charge of your breast health,” she added.
Connect FM’s Sales Executive, William Mawusi Dotse, impressed by the event’s turnout, called on the business community to leverage the station’s extensive listenership.
“We’re thrilled with the overwhelming turnout today. The numbers exceeded our expectations, and this positive response is a testament to Connect FM’s growing influence in the region. Looking ahead to next year, we’ve got exciting plans in store that will draw even bigger crowds.
“If you’re a business owner seeking to reach a wider audience, partner with us at Connect FM and tap into this expanding market,” he urged.
Some beneficiaries praised Connect FM for its longstanding dedication to the region.

“Everything went smoothly, and it’s clear that Connect FM excels at event management! I commend you for the support you’ve been giving to the community.
“Beyond entertainment and information, the breast cancer awareness video shown by the hospital officials was particularly impactful.
It underscored the importance of regular screenings for women. Kudos to Connect FM for creating awareness on such crucial health issues” Auntie Araba a beneficiary of the breast cancer screening.
