An accident on the Accra – Kasoa highway near the tollbooth has reportedly claimed several lives, leaving many others injured on Sunday, October 26, 2025.

Eyewitnesses recount that a fully loaded sprinter minibus with registration number GW 7455-18, which was heading from Accra to Kasoa rammed into a 4×4 Jeep with registration number GR 7673, which was reversing on the highway.

The minibus, due to the severity of the accident, flipped several times before coming at a standstill on a wrecked heap.

The eyewitnesses further recounted that many of the passengers died on the spot, while others were trapped inside the rammed vehicle.

Some residents nearby, together with emergency respondents, rushed to the scene to help pull out some survivors who had been trapped inside the mangled car.

A survivor who sustained a serious injury and got an early care at the Ngleshie Amanfro Polyclinic, according to reports, had to face further danger after paramedics had to go through stress to find him a hospital to take care of him.

The transfer reportedly took nearly an hour as emergency workers searched for a major facility to provide care.

Authorities are yet to release an official death toll and details of the injured in the accident.
