Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has revealed that he never intended to do politics growing up.

Whilst teaching after attending teacher training college, Mr. Asiedu Nketia says he was called to become an assemblyman at his hometown, Seikwa, when chieftaincy had created factions in the community.

He says the division then was so severe that it stifled development, the reason the district assembly settled on him to neutralise the tension.

The longest serving General Secretary of the NDC says the district assembly which harnessed the idea transferred him to his hometown where he began his political journey as young as age 21.

He has been telling Captain Smart on Onua TV’s Maakye on Thursday, August 3, 2023, how he sailed through the political trajectory amid his dreams of educational pursuit.
