The Ghana Revenue Authority’s demand for apology from Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, to the Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Rev. Dr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah, will not see the light of day.

This comes after the North Tongu Member of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, said he is not going to render any apology to Mr. Owusu-Amoah since he does not owe the GRA an apology.

The MP had accused the GRA boss of fleeing the country whilst investigation on the Authority’s contract with Strategic Mobilisation Limited was ongoing.

Mr. Ablakwa accused President Akufo-Addo in a post on social media of assisting Mr. Owusu-Amoah to flee the revenue assurance contract probe and demanded an explanation from the president over the absence of the GRA boss.

The GRA, has, however, debunked the allegations in a statement indicating its boss is on vacation and hasn’t absconded as the North Tongu legislator is saying.

It explained that Dr. Owusu-Amoah’s leave was approved almost a month ago, and he is expected back in the office on January 15, describing Mr. Ablakwa’s comments as misrepresentation of facts and malicious, demanding an apology from him.

Meanwhile, the MP says he will not apologise since the GRA failed to address the substantive matter he raised in his allegations.

“Let me assure the GRA that I do not owe them an apology, and they surely are not going to get one. The GRA response abysmally fails to discredit the findings of my unimpeachable parliamentary oversight,” he posted.
