Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen has said he overstayed his welcome in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) looking at the time the animosity against him began.

He said his exit from the NPP came as a result of some people in the party who started “making noise” some years ago when President Kufuor brought him back from the United States to continue the Presidential Special Initiative (PSI) he started.

According to him, after initially rejecting the ministerial position from President Kufuor, he was convinced to serve as the Ambassador to the United States, having advised the President to bequeath a legacy after his term of office, an advise through which he engineered four models under the PSI before leaving for the US.

On Pae Mu Ka, an afternoon political show on Onua FM Thursday, the presumptive flag bearer of the Alliance for Revolutionary Change (ARC), said people in the NPP started talking after his return, saying Kufuor brought him back to groom for the presidency.

Touting his achievements and asking those “talking anyhow” in the party to name their records, Alan Kyerematen said he should have left the party long ago.

“…and when he brought me back in 2003 to supervise the initiatives I started, these same NPP people were talking; those of you talking, who were you at the time? I’ve traced my records, those of you talking, what have you done before? What are your records?”

“And people started talking that Kufuor brought me to groom me to become President. So the animosity started long time ago and I even took too long to exit the party because the animosity started long ago. Ask the NPP people making noise in Ghana, what are their records?” he asked.

He went ahead to state his achievements in the corporate world and politics, asking others to also tout their achievements.
