Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, founder and leader of the Movement for Change (M4C) is asking those talking in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to show their records.

He says prior to conceiving the idea of flag bearer, he had done a lot for the country and the NPP where he hitherto belonged, daring those that “making noise” in the NPP to show what they have done.

Touting his records as one of the youngest managers at now Unilever, Alan Kyerematen says his track record earned him the first appointment from John Kufuor which he objected, something the former President still talks about.

He has been telling Yaa Titi Okrah on Onua FM’s Pae Mu Ka Thursday, April 18, 2024, that it was after he rejected the ministerial position th at Kufuor persuaded him to take the ambassadorial position, having advised Kufuor and helped him began his Presidential Special Initiative.

“My achievements started at USA now Unilever, I was a manager at the age of 22 and that is a record at that time. I was in charge of UNDP, their programme that supported businessmen in the whole Africa called Enterprise Africa. In politics, Kufuor knew my worth before we came to power. I would have contested him in 1996 because he knows my worth. When he became President, I was the first person he appointed a minister and I was bold to tell him that I don’t need your appointment, I was working with the UN already before helping you to become President. Give it to those who are looking for posts so that we will sit back and watch and correct you when you go wrong,” he disclosed.

He further revealed that Kufuor “never forgave me looking at how people were grappling for positions and  me rejecting it. He then pleaded with me that if I didn’t want the ministerial position, I should take the role of the US Ambassador because if didn’t get a competent person to hold that position, it will greatly affect his administration and that he had to really plead through my wife and family before I accepted.”

“And I distinguished myself when I went to America and I fronted the discussions that led to the oil discovery, the equipment that were brought to VALCo at the time before he brought me back to take over the ministerial position. Prior to going to America, I started the Presidential Special Initiative (PSI) and I told him that he should leave a legacy so I selected four areas: Cassava industrial starch, Garment, Oil Palm and Salt and I put his name on it because I didn’t want to make any name for myself,” he touted.

“Those of you talking, who were you at the time? I’ve traced my records, those of you talking, what have you done before? What are your records?” Alan Kyerematen quizzed.
