As part of lobbying party delegates to vote for him in the upcoming presidential primary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has promised to appoint a godmother or godfather for every constituency.
Aside from that, the Vice President says he will ensure jurisdictional balance and inclusivity in his government by appointing ten (10) persons each from every constituency. These the flag bearer hopeful said would also include a welfare package for executives of the party.
Dr. Bawumia was speaking to party delegates at Wenchi in the Bono region when he made the revelations.
“If you give me the nod to lead the party to become President, I will appoint ten people from every constituency in my government, I will create welfare for party executives, I will appoint godfather or godmother for every constituency,” he indicated.
At the programme, he also promised that the issuance of the Ghana card to newly born babies will begin across the country next month, November 2023.
“By next month all babies born in Ghana, once they take them to weighing, they would be issued the Ghana card number and also get their Birth Certificate Identification number at the same time because the two database are talking to each other,” he noted.
The NPP Presidential aspirant hopeful explained that the issuance of ID numbers at birth was integral part of Government’s ongoing digitalisation agenda.
He seized the opportunity to expressed his gratitude to delegates in the Bono region who participated in the NPP super delegates’ conference for voting massively for him.
