Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, a founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has become the latest among political stalwarts of the state to suggest that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia cannot “independently think” through issues on his own.
There are many who feel the Vice President who is also a 2024 flag bearer hopeful of the NPP is a stooge of President Akufo-Addo and his cabal and would continue to be if he apparently becomes president of the state.
Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe says Dr. Bawumia has not performed satisfactorily and is being used as a rubber stamp by the powers that be.
Meanwhile, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe, has further indicated that if Dr. Bawumia is able to stand to his authority, he will go far in his political career.
He refuted claims that he is against the candidature of Dr. Bawumia as flag bearer of the NPP, and has pledged his support for him should he win the November 4 presidential primary.
“I’m not against Dr Bawumia, the only thing that I feel sad about is that he’s not allowed to be himself. That is the only thing I feel sad for that young man [Dr Bawumia]. If Dr Bawumia can think independently, if I put it bluntly, he will go far. If he wins the elections why not I will support him,” he said on Accra-based Citi TV Tuesday, September, 26, 2023.
Meanwhile, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe thinks Francis Addai-Nimoh is the only candidate who can foster unity in the party should he win the primary to become flag bearer for the NPP.
“I won’t support anybody, but I have sympathy for Francis Addai-Nimoh. He’s the one who can bring the party together. He’s the only one, none of them can bring the party together,” he indicated.
