Captain Smart has responded to the Lands and Natural Resources minister, Francis Asenso-Boakye over a release issued in response to some accusations made by the broadcast journalist on his show.

He says he is not going to retract and apologise to the claims as demanded in Mr. Asenso-Boakye’s response, and has asked the minister to go to court if he feels what he said about him is false.

Captain Smart had accused Asenso-Boakye, then deputy Chief of Staff for directing the reinstatement of one Augustine Adubofour to the Tema Port after being transferred by the Ghana Revenue Authority.

Mr. Adubofour is said to have held that nobody can touch him because of Asenso-Boakye, despite his alleged involvement in corruption at the Port.

Captain Smart had indicated he called the minister to find out why he called for Mr. Adubofour’s reinstatement. According to him, Mr. Asenso-Boakye said some constituency persons visited him and espoused how helpful Adubofour had been to the constituency, calling for him to be reinstated.

Meanwhile, the Lands and Natural Resource Minister has said though there was a call from Captain Smart and a meeting of party members of his constituency took place, he had no power to reverse a decision at the GRA, therefore demanding a retraction and apology.

But speaking on the morning show Tuesday, August 30, 2022, Captain Smart said:

“I will not retract today nor tomorrow. Go to court. Check your chats with Adubofour. When you delete your WhatsApp messages it’s not gone. I will not retract even in my grave, I’ll not apologise. People deliberately take you to court when they want you to leave a case. I have the time to waste. Go to court.”
