Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, flag bearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has said he is ready to take the bull by the horn to transform the lives of Ghanaians if elected as President.

He says it is his desire to take bold decisions that will change the fortunes of Ghana if elected President, therefore calling on the citizenry to give him the opportunity come December 07.

“I’m not afraid to take bold decisions that would change this country and I want you to give me this opportunity,” he said.

According to the Vice President, the black man is not bereft of ideas, having observed how they outperform their foreign counterparts in various academic endeavours, the reason he is confident Ghana can also develop to the level of the advanced world.

At a meeting with the Regional House of Chiefs as part of his campaign tour to the Western Region Thursday, May 02, 2024, the NPP flag bearer said he believes in the capabilities of the Ghanaian in devising solutions to the current challenges for advancement, the reason his campaign slogan says “It Is Possible”.

Nananom, I’m also very clear in my own conviction that we can do better of what the advanced countries have done. Many people believe in the ability of the African. We have a mindset that says this is not possible, we cannot do it better than what the white folks are doing but we went to the same schools with them, we beat them in class. It’s nothing special so I believe that Ghana can do more and get more advanced than the advanced countries,” he said.

Dr. Bawumia further indicated that he is convinced by the few things that have began that more can be done to uplift the Ghanaian people from poverty.

“And just a few things that we are doing tells me that it is possible. So when I say that my campaign slogan is that it is possible, most people don’t understand what it means. It is possible for us to become an advanced country to lift up our people from poverty. Let us have that mindset of possibility so that we can change this country,” he added.
