Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe Agyei, popularly known as Abronye, has responded to a petition by the party’s national leadership to the Disciplinary Committee (DC) to question him on some actions.

NPP General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, in a letter signed on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, said Abronye has indulged in “series of actions deemed not only unbecoming of a member of the Party but also gravely detrimental to the image, unity, and integrity of the organisation.”

Among the key concerns raised in the petition include the defamation of a senior party member, where he is said to have publicly insulted a 2028 flag bearer hopeful of the party, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.

In Abronye’s response issued Tuesday, September 30, he expressed his readiness to appear before the DC to respond to what he describes at the “antichrist actions and inactions” of the former Assin Central lawmaker.

“I hereby write to indicate my full preparedness and willingness to appear before the Committee to comprehensively lay bare and substantiate the antichrist actions and inactions of Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, which has undermined the cohesion and integrity of our Party.”

He requested that the Committee’s sitting with him be made public just as his referral was, for every rank and file of the party to witness the proceedings.

“Since the referral was made public, I therefore propose that the sittings of the Committee be conducted openly and broadcast live, so that the rank and file of our noble Party may have the opportunity to witness, at first hand, the manifest antichrist posture and conduct of Hon. Kennedy Agyapong,” the statement indicated.
