Forwards Inaki Williams and Mohammed Kudus are set to join their Black Stars team mates on Thursday, January 4.

All bar the two players are in camp preparing for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in La Cote d’Ivoire.

The Athletic Club striker was reported ill at the start of camping on Tuesday, January 2.

The Spanish La Liga side said Inaki Williams “was assessed by the club’s medical services early on Tuesday morning at Lezama as he has come down with an illness which requires him to rest”.

He was given treatment for further assessment on Wednesday morning “so that he can travel and join the Ghana training camp as soon as possible”.

On Wednesday, the confirmation came that the striker has “adequately recovered” and will join the Black Stars in Kumasi on Thursday.

For the West Ham United midfielder, he was not available for selection for the Irons’ match on Tuesday after a request from manager David Moyes was rejected by Black Stars manager Chris Hughton.

Kudus was scheduled to travel from London and join his national teammates on Thursday.

Ghana are set to play Namibia in a friendly on Monday, January 8 ahead of the start of their campaign in La Cote d’Ivoire.
