Nana Ato Dadzie, a former Chief of Staff to late President Rawlings and counsel for Oliver Barker-Vormawor, convenor of DemocracyHub, has said one of the two bribery allegation posts being attributed to his client is fake.

He says the said post is not from Barker-Vormawor and cannot speak to it.

Nana Ato Dadzie, speaking before the Appointments Committee of Parliament, indicated that his client, who was hauled before the Committee was charged with two statements allegedly authored and posted by him.

According to him, the invitation issued by Parliament to his client said in its second paragraph that Mr. Barker-Vormawor had alleged that NDC members on the committee take monies from appointees before approving them.

However, the former Chief of Staff has said the said post is not from his client.

“We go straight particularly to the second statement allegedly posted by him and clearly state that, that statement is fake. He never wrote that statement, he never authored that statement, he never posted that statement,” Nana Ato Dadzie stated categorically.

He explained that “that statement says, that ‘NDC members on the vetting committee take money from Mahama’s ministerial nominees before approving them. The Deputy Speaker must submit himself to ORAL’, this is not from Mr. Barker-Vormawor and that’s how we end that on our side. It is fake.”

The UN consultant on peace building and political transition added that his outfit had already carried some preliminary investigations which has shown where the post emanated.

“Some preliminary investigations have shown that this statement appeared, there is a post that has a title, ‘NPP Projects Bureau’ where the post appears. I’m not saying that with any partisan interest but factually, that’s where it appeared. So, we will not want to speak to that,” he explained.
