General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has asked President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to reshuffle his appointees to help the party retain power in the next elections.

The General Secretary says the NPP needs new faces in its government to chart its course to make headway in the upcoming parliamentary and presidential elections.

In his address at the party’s annual Thanksgiving service held at the party headquarters, Kodua asserted that appointing new faces is essential to propel the NPP towards achieving its objectives.

“It is time for some changes in the government so we get some new faces to continue. We believe that if we get new appointments, we will be able to retain power in the next election,” he stated.

Emphasising on the impact of actions of some appointees on the fortunes of the December 7, 2024 elections, Mr. Kodua averred that those who feel they are tired and cannot serve should stop sabotaging the party and resign.

He entreated Ministers, Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) and Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives, who are fatigued to lay down their tools than to make the party unpopular.

Pointing out his displeasure with the conduct of some appointees, Mr. Frimpong was explicit on his stance that “if you are tired, resign and leave so the party can retain power.”

“If you are a Minister, a CEO or an MMDCE and you have not been reshuffled and you think you are tired, resign, don’t sabotage the party.”
