The Member of Parliament for Ahanta West, Mavis Kukua Bissue Boateng, has reaffirmed her commitment to supporting brilliant but needy students in order to train professionals that the constituency urgently lacks for its development.
Speaking in an exclusive interview during the official launch of the Ayindamaanle Education Trust Fund on 27th September 2025, she emphasized that although Ahanta West is blessed with engineers and pastors, the constituency still suffers a deficit in critical professions such as doctors, lawyers, and other specialized fields.
“Ahanta West lacks doctors, lawyers, and many other essential professionals. Sometimes when people call me requesting a lawyer, I make several calls but struggle to find one from Ahanta West. This is not encouraging. Most doctors posted here are not from Ahanta; they are brought from elsewhere. If this Trust Fund supports students to attend medical school, I strongly believe we will begin to produce the professionals our community urgently needs,” she stressed.
She further explained that the Fund is designed to close this gap by sponsoring students into these essential fields while ensuring that beneficiaries return to serve the community.
“Every beneficiary of the Ayindamaanle Education Trust Fund will sign a bond committing to return to Ahanta West to serve our people. They will also be expected to support other brilliant but needy students. This will create a cycle of empowerment and boost our human resource base,” Hon. Bissue disclosed.
The MP appealed to companies, institutions, and individuals to contribute to the Fund. According to her, investing in education is one of the most rewarding ventures, as it guarantees blessings and sustainable development for the constituency.
“It will be a joy to see a doctor in Ahanta West who was supported through this Fund by your contribution. There is more blessing in giving, and I encourage everyone to come on board,” she urged.
Mavis Bissue also cautioned students who will benefit from the Fund to take their studies seriously and avoid distractions.
“If you’re fortunate to receive support from the Ayindamaanle Education Trust Fund, don’t waste it on unnecessary activities like parties and misconduct. We will monitor beneficiaries closely to ensure they are focused and disciplined,” she warned.
The Ayindamaanle Education Trust Fund is a constituency-led initiative established by Mavis Kukua Bissue Boateng to expand access to quality education for children and youth across Ahanta West.
The Fund will award scholarships and bursaries to brilliant but needy students, supply essential learning materials to schools and pupils, and provide mentorship and professional guidance. It will also support the development of critical school infrastructure while promoting and sustaining the study of the Ahanta language.
Through these interventions, the initiative will mobilize resources to ensure that brilliant but needy students and underserved communities are not left behind, while equipping Ahanta West with the critical professionals needed to drive its development.
