The Vice President and presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has said he has called and congratulated former President John Dramani Mahama for winning the December 2024 presidential elections.
Bawumia was addressing the media in his concession speech ahead of the official announcement by the Electoral Commission (EC) on Sunday, December 08, 2024.
The Vice President says even though not all the results have come in, his outfit is aware that the remaining results will not make any changes.
He indicated that he needed to come ahead of the EC to make the concession defeat to abate the unnecessary tension that the delay in the announcement of the results is causing.
Dr. Bawumia added that the elections were “free and fair”, thanking the media for its “excellent reportage.”
