The flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has asked the youth of Ghana to cross their fingers and endure the few months of hardship from this government.

He says the NDC has the men and women to turn the fortunes of this country from the mess the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration has subjected it into.

According to Mahama, he is certain of the hardship the nation is going to face due to how deteriorated the NPP administration has left the country.

The former President says Ghana’s economy has never been sunk such low, and admonished the youth to trust the NDC to work things if they are voted back to power.

“I’ll ask our young people to continue to keep hope alive because the NDC has the men and women. I know that things are going to be hard. I know that the extent to which they are destroying our economy and the debt that they have put on this country is going to be a job for us,” he said at a mini rally at Kisseman in the Okaikoi North constituency in Greater Accra.

Meanwhile, John Mahama also indicated at same event that he planned to retire after handing over to Akufo-Addo in 2017.

However, he couldn’t sit and watch the country being destroyed in such magnitude. He said that was the reason he came back to be voted to change things.

“I was looking forward to retire after I handed over to Akufo Addo and become a Statesman. But I will be a selfish person if I see the extent to which they have destroyed this country when I have the experience, the knowledge, the integrity to turn things around.

“And then I will sit at home and say I will not offer myself to use that experience to turn things around for my children, Sharaf, Shahid or Farida and the youth of this country. We are going to work together with you to turn things around,” he stated.
