Former champions Asante Kotoko are currently 3 points behind leaders FC Samartex 1996 in the Ghana Premier League.

This follows a 2-0 win over Bofoakwa Tano FC at the Sunyani Coronation Park Saturday, December 30.

Bofoakwa Tano FC were returning home after serving a three-match home ban.

However, Ugandan import Steven Dese Mukwala scored in each half of the game to give his side all three points.

He opened the score in the 20th minute and extended Asante Kotoko’s lead with 10 minutes to end the game.

The 2-0 win moves the Porcupine Warriors up from 6th position to 2nd position while the Bono East Region side remain 14th with 17 points.

In other games, champions Medeama SC drew goalless with Karela United at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium while Bibiani Gold Stars beat Legon Cities 4-2.
