Three goals in each half gave Asante Kotoko a resounding 6-0 win over Bechem United on Matchday 16 of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League.

The penultimate match of the first round of the domestic league gave Asante Kotoko coach Abdul-Karim Zito a lot to smile about as the goalscorers came from all departments of his outfield team.

Striker Morifing Donzo started it all, scoring after just nine minutes of play at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Captain Samba O’Niel made it 2-0 when he rose highest to connect to the ball, which deflected off an opponent.

Donzo then got his brace as he scored from close range to end the first half 3-0.

From the break, the Porcupine Warriors continued where they left the first 45 minutes with Hubert Gyau scoring from a one-two combination with Donzo.

Johnson Owusu made it 5-0 in an uncharacteristic fashion as he blocked a shot with his back to direct the ball into the net.

Asante Kotoko’s lead striker, Kwame Opoku, who is still trying to find his level since returning from injury, scored the sixth and final goal in the match.

The win takes the Reds top of the table ahead of the final first-round clash at Swedru All Blacks.

The Hunters, on the other hand, will return to the Nana Fosu Gyeabour I Park for regional derby against Berekum Chelsea.
