Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko have announced a return to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

This follows communication by the National Sports Authority (NSA) about the completion of renovation works carried out inside the stadium.

The facility was shut down in September immediately after Ghana’s 0-1 loss to Angola in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Many pointed to the bad pitch as cause of the Black Stars loss to the Palancas Negras.

The shutdown of the stadium forced Asante Kotoko to move their home games to Obuasi, the Len Clay Stadium to be precise.

”We are pleased to announce our return to the Baba Yara Stadium for our remaining home matches of the season,” the club said on its X page on Thursday, November 28.

”This decision was arrived at following an official communication from @Gh_NSA indicating the completion of maintenance work at our historic home venue.”

Coincidentally, the first game for the Porcupine Warriors upon return to Kumasi will be against archrivals Hearts of Oak on Matchday 13 of the Ghana Premier League.
