Private legal practitioner, Martin Luther Kpebu, has added to his list, the head of the Executive, President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, as one of the government officials he intends suing after finishing his term of office.

Mr. Kpebu, who has twice disclosed his intentions to sue the former Finance Minister, Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta, for profiteering over the State’s bonds on the Eurobond market for the financial advice his firm provided for this government, says he has got enough reas ons to sue the President as well.

Speaking on the KeyPoints on TV3 Saturday, April 20, 2024, the renowned lawyer indicated that the President had no cause to spend over GHC500 million on fumigation when Covid-19 had extincted.

According to him, a Manasseh Azure-investigation on the matter revealed the fraud associated with the exercise, the reason President Akufo-Addo must answer for it at the law court.

“For President Akufo-Addo, what I’m looking for is that when he leaves office, I’ll be making a complaint so that we prosecute him for the over GHC500million we spent on fumigation of schools etc after Covid when it wasn’t necessary. That’s the investigation Manasseh did and won the West African Journalist of the Year,” he stated.

When host, Alfred Ocansey asked if he meant what he said by getting the President prosecuted, he said responded “oh yeah, we’ll see. President Akufo-Addo just like Donald Trump is before the court, Akufo-Addo will also go before the court. The [district and municipal] assemblies said it was going to be a financial loss, they didn’t think that fumigation was necessary.”
