A commercial sex worker has assaulted her alleged nine-year-old sister by pouring hot water on her at Duase, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti region.

The suspect, Beauty Inakwe, a Nigerian, also inflicted cutlass wounds on the young girl’s hand, Ruth Wisdom. Tenants at the residence say the victim was brought from Nigeria to live with her.

Miss Inakwe, the suspect, attacked Wisdom and beat her up for defecating in their room.

Residents account has it that the suspect is fond of locking the young girl, together with her own child, in the room at night, and goes to work, returning the next morning.

The kids are forced to rely on a public facility in the neighbourhood since their room has no toilet. When the victim is unable to reach it in time, she reportedly defecates into a plastic bag—a practice the suspect reportedly disapproves of, responding with severe beatings.

However, Saturday, November 22, 2025’s incident drew the attention of tenants and neighbours, who rescued the girl and took her to the Manhyia hospital.

Reports indicate some old bruises were identified by health workers on the young girl, confirming persistent abuse.

Although she has been discharged, the victim says she is still in great pain and described how her sister has been abusing her.

The Kenyase District Police Command arrested the suspect and later granted her bail on Saturday, November 22, to seek medical care.

The residents who brought her to the police allegedly assaulted her before handing her over to the law enforcement body.

The victim is now staying with some community members who are helping her recover.
