Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu is satisfied with the outcome of the just ended special delegates’ conference of the New Patriotic Party.

He, has, however, expressed displeasure with how some of the candidates have acted in the aftermath of the special delegates conference.

Speaking on Ghanakoma morning show with Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin on Akoma 87.9 FM in Kumasi, Mr. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu said he is generally satisfied with how things fared at the conference.

He admitted that, though there were some infractions during the election, generally delegates and party members comported themselves very well.

Meanwhile, there have been allegations of intimidation, attacks, and vote-buying made by camps of some of the candidates.

The poll came with the highest votes for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, with Kennedy Ohene Agyapong and Alan John Kyerematen following forth in that order.

Some persons related to other candidates have made comments suggesting that the polls were manipulated at some centres.

However, the Majority Leader who supports Dr. Bawumia says attempts by some of the candidates to taint the victory of Dr. Bawumia will not succeed.

He pointed out that, “we all hear what is coming out with some people accusing some of the aspirants of trying to manipulate the elections even though every objective person will realise that to a very large extent this was a very keenly contested election and that freeness and fairness can be attested to.”
