Bawku Central lawmaker, Mahama Ayariga, is tipped to be the next Majority Leader for the 9th Parliament, sources within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has disclosed to OnuaOnline.
He is to replace Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, the current Majority Leader who has been designated as Minister of Finance by President John Dramani Mahama.
Dr. Ato Forson was vetted for his new position by the Appointments Committee of Parliament with two others on Monday, January 13, 2025.
The National Democratic Congress which currently holds the Majority in Parliament decided to stick to its leadership pending the ministerial appointments.
However, the caucus’ leadership is subject to changes following the appointment of some members to occupy new roles in the government which was recently inaugurated.
