Former President John Dramani Mahama has brought to a halt, the legal tussle that ensued between two national aspirants of the Youth Organiser portfolios of the NDC.

The 2024 flagbearer hopeful of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) after having separate meetings with Sammy Gyamfi and George Opare Addo to ceasefire over the exchanges they had on social media, has called on Brogya Genfi to abate the litigation with his contender for the peace of the party.

The first session of the NDC National Delegates Congress that sought to elect the youth and women organisers for the party was marred with disturbances that emanated from disagreements between followers of the two national youth organiser aspirants –George Opare Addo aka Pablo and Brogya Genfi.

Mr. Genfi took the matter to court after suffering defeat from Pablo, and sought an interlocutory injunction on the swearing-in of Pablo who was eventually affirmed by the Electoral Commission after the Congress.

The National Communications Officer of the party, Sammy Gyamfi, who suppported Brogya Genfi exchanged series of altercations with Pablo which was intervened by Mr. Mahama to bring finality to it.

On Thursday, December 22, 2022, Mr. Mahama posted on his Facebook wall, a meeting he had with the litigant to withdraw from the court, the redress he was seeking.

“I have had a meeting with Comrade Brogya Genfi following his decision to seek redress in court, and the outcome of our successful discussion is the decision to withdraw the case from court.

“We must work together, fully committed to Victory 2024, and the discussion with comrade Genfi was most encouraging,” he indicated.

According to him, the NDC “must focus on building a united front at all levels of the party, and this is a great beginning.”
