Former President and the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama has assured the people of Keta that his next administration will audit and investigate the Keta Port Project, which was initiated by the current government.
According to him, an amount of $8 million has gone into the project to build an administration block but there’s nothing to show for that.
Mr Mahama, who was speaking as part of his campaign tour in the Volta Region, explained that this current administration led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia have taken an amount of $70 million out of the $200 million profit made by Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GHAPOHA) from NPS and put it in the Boankra Port Project.
He also accused the government of taking another $8 million to build an administration block for the Keta Port Project but has failed to do it.
He has, therefore, promised to audit and investigate the Project and whoever has spent any money that were supposed to be used will be held accountable, he vowed.
