Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has announced to the public, particularly residents and businesses in the eastern part of Accra, a significant interruption to water supply.
A statement issued by GWL explained that this is due to major burst on the 42-inch transmission pipe line on Monday, January 19, 2026.
The incident has resulted in significant interruption to water supply across several communities within the affected corridor.
GWL said a team of engineers and technical personnel have been mobilized upon detection of the fault and have since been working around the clock to repair the damaged line.
The statement added that due to the size of the transmission main and the complexity of the repair, the restoration process will require careful handling to ensure safety, durability, and efficiency.
GWL further assured the public that every effort is being made to complete the repair work as quickly as possible and restore normal water supply.
“We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused and appreciate the patience and understanding of our cherished customers,” the statement stated.
