President John Dramani Mahama has made the following changes to his Government.

This is contained in a press release dated August 26 issued by Government Spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.

“Hon. Abdul-Rashid Pelpuo has been reassigned as Minister of State for Special Initiatives while Hon. Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum replaces him as Minister for Labour, Employment and Job Creation,” Mr Ofosu stated.

He added that, “The President has also reassigned Deputy Minister for Defence, Hon. Ernest Brogya Genfi has also been reassigned as a Presidential Advisor on National Resilience and Emergency Preparedness.

The reassignments take immediate effect.”

This is the second ministerial reshuffle undertaken by President John Mahama since he assumed office in January 2025.

In the first reshuffle on August 7, Mahama Ayariga was nominated to the position of Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs, while Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings heads to the Ministry of Environment, Science, and Technology.

Substantive Local Government Minister Ahmed Ibrahim was moved to the Ministry of Works, Housing, and Water Resources.

The Works and Housing Minister, Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, was reassigned to the Ministry of Defence.
