Black Stars and West Ham United midfielder Mohammed Kudus has described as “normal” rumours about he moving away from the East London side.

But he insists that his focus is preparing for the 2024/25 season, which begins on Friday, August 16.

Speaking to the Athletic FC’s Adam Leventhal, Kudus said playing in a league like the English Premier League and performing at high levels definitely attract interests.

“When you perform at those kind of levels in a league like this, it’s normal to have rumours and hear about other clubs,” he said in the interview.

“But right now my focus is getting prepared for the new season and then we will see how everything goes.”

He admits that he would not get things as easy as he did his first season due to the fact that he is known in the League now.

“Setting the standard is not as difficult as maintaining it,” he said.

“It’s going to be even tougher now everybody knows me. But I’m still far from my top abilities.

“The first season was just the beginning.”

Kudus has already joined West Ham United under new manager Julen Lopetegui.

Their first game will be at home against Aston Villa on Saturday, August 17.
