Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton has submitted a list of 55 players as his provisional squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The list was submitted to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as part of the mandatory regulation to do so one clear month before the tournament begins.

From the list, the Black Stars coach has named Nations FC defender Razak Simpson in the squad.

There are two Great Olympics players also named. They are Emmanuel Antwi and Benjamin Asare.

Dreams FC also have two players in the list. They are John Antwi and Godfred Atuahene.

Asante Kotoko’s Richmond Lamptey has also been included in the list.

There are five players from champions Medeama SC. They are striker Jonathan Sowah, goalie Felix Kyei, Derrick Fordjour, Fatawu Hamidu and Abdulai Nurudeen.

Aside the local players, the list is dominated by members of the Black Stars at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Coach Hughton is expected to whittle the list down to 27 for the tournament with 23 players eligible for a particular match at the tournament.
