The National Democratic Congress (NDC) goes to the polls Saturday, December 17, 2022, to elect leaders for the party for the next four years.

Onua TV and FM as well as their sister station in Kumasi, Akoma FM, will deliver a live telecast of the Congress for their viewers and listeners across the country.

Meanwhile, starting today, Wednesday, December 14, Onua TV/FM’s morning show, ‘Maakye’, will be extended till midday to commence discussions on the Congress.

Interviews with rank and file of the party will start today and continue on Thursday through to Friday before the Congress day.

Experienced reporters from our political desk would be deployed to the C ongress venue at the stadium on Saturday to bring audience up to speed with key incidents on the grounds.

An undiluted history of the NDC and exclusives from previous Congresses and how events thereof impacted their performances on national elections will be served by our presenters along with interviews with party bigwigs and political pundits.

Beginning from today, Wednesday, the National Communications Officer of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi, will raise the curtain with Victor Smith and Enoch Amoako-Nsiah, Ghana’s former High Commissioner to the UK & Ireland and a former Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator respectively, cementing it.

Also speaking on Onua and Akoma will be Joshua Hamidu Akamba, Solomon Yaw Nkansah and Chief Hamilton Biney Nixon with Joseph Yammin who are all vying for the National Organiser positions.

George Opare Addo and Dr. Louisa Hannah Bissiw who have both been recently elected as National Youth and Women Organisers respectively, will also speak about the Congress on our airwaves.

On Thursday, there will be an extensive discussion from 8pm to 10pm with pollster Ben Ephson, Dr. Bonsu Osei-Owusu; a political analyst and Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey, an aspiring General Secretary.

Following the extension of Maakye on Friday which will feature Dr. Peter Boamah Otokunor, a General Secretary aspirant and Joshua Hamidu Akamba who is contesting for National Organiser, Solomon Yaw Nkansah, a National Organiser aspirant will be speaking alongside a former Director of Research for the NDC’s National Delegates Congress, Dr William Ahadzi will speak later in the night between 8 to 10 pm.

Dr. Kobby Mensah, a political marketing specialist together with Dr. Isaac Owusu Mensah, a political science lecturer will join Kwadwo Nyamekye-Marfo, the Bono Regional Chairman and a former minister under the erstwhile NDC administration during the full coverage on Saturday.
