The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced the opening of nominations for its 2026 Constituency Executive Elections.
In a notice issued by the National Secretariat, the Party said nominations will officially open on Tuesday, 15th September 2026, in line with the general timetable earlier released.
According to the statement, “the opening marks an important stage in the Party’s internal electoral process. Members who intend to contest for the various Constituency Executive positions are being encouraged to take full advantage of the process within the prescribed period.”
Requirements for Nomination
The Secretariat stated that all payments for picking and filing of nomination forms shall be made strictly through the Party’s online portal- forms.ghanandc.com, using Mobile Money across all networks.
Aspirants, Proposers, Seconders and Endorsers are required to:
– Be members in good standing of the Party; and
– Have fully settled their membership dues for the last four (4) years.
Members with outstanding arrears have been directed to settle via *920* 25# or through *ndc.org.gh/dues*.
Campaign Officially Opened – But Not for Parliamentary Ambitions
The Party has also officially opened campaign activities for all aspirants contesting the 2026 internal elections at the Constituency, Regional and National levels.
“All aspirants are permitted to commence campaigns in accordance with the Party’s rules, regulations and directives. Regional Officers, Constituency Officers and Ward Coordinators have been directed to allow campaign activities by all aspirants within their respective jurisdictions,” the statement noted.
However, the Secretariat clarified that the campaign window does NOT extend to persons pursuing Parliamentary ambitions, including sitting Members of Parliament and persons currently considering or expressing an intention to contest Parliamentary elections.
The statement warned that “any infraction of the directive will be treated seriously and dealt with in accordance with the Party’s rules and regulations.”
“The National Secretariat urges all Constituencies, aspirants and members to conduct themselves with discipline, decorum and respect for the Party’s democratic values throughout the electoral process,” the statement signed by Barbara Serwaa Asamoah, Deputy General Secretary said.
It further called for cooperation to ensure a transparent, peaceful, orderly and successful electoral process.
