Euro 2024 winner Nico Williams Jr will wear the Number 10 jersey at Athletic Club in the 2024/25 season.
The Ghanaian-born was seen on the club’s official X page taking delivery of his new jersey.
Williams Jr wore Number 22 last season with his brother, Inaki, wearing the Number 9 jersey.
The Black Stars striker, who is also Vice Captain of the club, will keep his jersey, according to official sources, but his junior brother will go for the iconic Number 10.
With this new jersey number, Williams Jr would not be heading to FC Barcelona as widely rumoured.
The Catalans were said to be chasing the skillful winger to join their attack, with Lamine Yamal already at Camp Nou.
The attacking pair of Yamal and Williams Jr was credited for the stunning run of La Roja in annexing the 2024 European Championship.
