The founder and leader of Prophetic Hill Chapel, Prophet Nigel Gaisie, has firmly refuted allegations made by Apostle Lilian Kumah, the widow of the late Member of Parliament Dr. John Kumah, suggesting that he was on the late MP’s payroll.

Contrary to Mrs Kumah’s claims, Nigel Gaisie clarified that his relationship with the late MP was not based on financial transactions but rather on fulfilling his divine duties, adding that he and Mr Kumah “were not friends.”

He emphasised that during 2015/2016 when the Kumah family frequented his church, they were financially strained, evidence of this he says can be seen from their arrival at his church in a rundown pickup truck.

“She said I was on John Kumah’s payroll, 2015/2016 what money did they have? At that time they were frequenting my Church they didn’t have money, could they pay me, they came to me in a broken-down pickup but I’m a man of God hence I don’t want to say much.

“John Kumah was not a friend of mine he was like a son to me, let me not even say son because he never really submitted to me, he is not my friend,” Nigel disclosed to Nana Yaa Brefo and JB on Onua FM Tuesday, March 12, 2024.

His comment comes after Mrs. Kumah revealed that the prophet, Nigel Gaisie, used to be on her husband’s payroll.

According to her, Nigel Gaisie whom she describes as fake, previously was very close to her family and received regular allowance from her husband at the time he thought the prophet was a true man of God.

In her defense, she was unhappy that Nigel Gaisie having known that John Kumah was very ill still went ahead to prophesy that a deputy minister will die this year.

”Nigel Gaisie was like a brother, he knew Lawyer John Kumah personally one-on-one. We’ve eaten together, that is how far we went. When he returned from abroad to start his ministry, I had a programme with him in my church; the Disciples of Christ Ministry dubbed ‘Let The Prophet Speak’. So I know him one-on-one and he was aware even somewhere November that John Kumah was seriously sick,” the bereaved wife had said in an interview on Accra-based Asaase Radio.

Responding to the allegations that he had prior knowledge of the late MP’s illness, Nigel Gaisie asserted that he received divine revelation from God in April of 2023, warning him of an impending attack on John Kumah.

“Last year April I was praying at my regular time and God visited me. He revealed to me that an attack directed towards John Kumah was in motion. Where will I get the information that he was ill? Where was I going to meet him, I did not know about his illness, that is a lie, that is not true,” he rebutted.

Expressing disappointment at Mrs. Kumah’s accusations, Nigel Gaisie urged her to refrain from dragging his name into political controversies.

“If she wants to be a politician, if she wants her husband’s vacant seat, I beg of her to remove my name out of her mouth”, adding sternly that if “she wants to come after me and the Church like how politicians have done in the past, it won’t work, I won’t sit back to watch them tarnish my name like how they have in the past.

“Nobody does this, if a Christian does this it’s not good, Muslims do not do this, especially to a man of God whom God has used to help you and your family before,” he lamented.

In response to rumours suggesting marital discord, Nigel Gaisie dispelled them, confirming that his family resides in England and that his wife has no plans of deserting him.

“How can you go to the extent of saying my wife has left me and our marital home, no my family is in England, my wife hasn’t left me and she won’t leave me ever,” he stated
