Government has announced the imposition of curfew on Nalerigu township and its environs in the North East Regi on.
The curfew, imposed from 5:00 pm to 6:00 am, effective Thursday, December 18, 2025 was announced by the Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed on the advice of the National Security Council.
Also, there is a total ban on all persons in the Nalerigu township and its environs from carrying arms, ammunition, or any offensive objects/ weapons. Individuals found with any arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted.
Government has also banned movement of motorbikes, wearing of smocks, selling of fuel in containers and unlawful assembly.
Government urged chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, youth, and people of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them, as well as to use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace in the area.
